We prefer to start our festival season in the fall, especially since Charleston gets to play host to the Southern Ground Music and Food Festival. Zac Brown's event is now in its third year, and it's growing and getting better every time October comes around. The initial lineup for the Oct. 19 and 20 shows at Blackbaud Stadium has been announced, and we've got two words for you: Willie Nelson.
That's right. The Red-Headed Stranger is one of this year's headliners, along with Band of Horses, the Head and the Heart, Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue, Dawes, Kacey Musgraves, and more TBA. And, of course, the Zac Brown Band will play both nights. The food part of the fest will be led by Executive Chef Rusty Hamlin, who leads up the Zac Brown Band mobile kitchen.
Tickets go on sale Sat. May 11 at 10 a.m. (with pre-sale for Zac Brown Band fan club members on Wed. May 8 at 12 p.m. and for past festival goers on Thurs. May 9 at 10 a.m.). Two-day passes are $99 and there are VIP options.
