This healthy supermarket, based out of Asheville, considers itself a community hub, providing information and education on healthy living in addition to fresh foods. One enormous facet of their philosophy is keeping it local. They work with area farmers and are a CSA drop-off spot. They also carry as many local products as they can. For goods made locally, like gRAWnola, they require the producer to send a sample of the product along with an ingredient list to ensure they meet Earth Fare’s food standards (i.e., no high fructose corn syrup). For farmers trying to get their food into Earth Fare, it’s a bit more complicated; all farmers must be certified in order to be considered. The health-conscious grocer also regularly hosts community fundraisers, so check out their website for any upcoming events.
Natural and organic meats, specialty cheeses, wine and beer, bakery, deli, meals to go. Hot bar and salad bar. Fresh juices and smoothies.
