Bonneau Pepper Farm LLC

Roger Spateholts runs Bonneau Pepper Farm as a one-man operation. He grows natural, hydroponic, pesticide-free hot peppers of any variety. There are 300 pepper plants on the premises, and Whole Foods buys virtually all of his habaneros. You can find them in the grocery store’s produce section marked by Certified South Carolina Grower stickers. In addition, Spateholts harvests heirloom tomatoes — Eva Purples — and seedless Diva cucumbers. Throughout the growing season, his wife Amy cans avidly, turning excess cucumbers into bread and butter pickles, dill pickles, hot pickles, and preserved tomatoes to eat during the winter. This spring and summer, the farm will not only be growing peppers, but you’ll find cucumbers, and heirloom tomatoes as well. Be on the lookout for Spateholts at farmers markets in Summerville and Moncks Corner. Contact him if you’re interested in contract growing. He encourages chefs to hand-select crops for him to hydroponically grow.
