All artists and illustrators in the greater Charleston area are invited to submit their best new and original 2D works in the Charleston City Paper's 2016 Visual Art Contest.
Entries due by midnight Friday, July 1.
All entries are $10 per image.
Enter as many times as you would like. Artists can enter either in the General or Student categories.
To enter, select your division:
Original two-dimensional works of art are eligible in traditional or digital mediums.
The work of art must have been created between June 1, 2015 and July 1, 2016.
Image file(s) of all artwork must be submitted online for judging, no works of art will be accepted in person.
The Student category is open to all full-time students. All other contestants should enter under the General category.
The work of art must have never been published or previously exhibited.
Winning entries MUST be able to provide a usable, high-resolution image file ready for print publication, or be able to provide the original artwork in person for photographing at the City Paper offices by no later than July 1, 2016.
By submitting an image for judging, the entrant certifies that the artwork is the original work of the entrant, and he or she has the right to publish such an image.
Submissions may be featured in the Charleston City Paper and on the Charleston City Paper site. Entry in the contest constitutes permission for the Charleston City Paper to use the submission for digital and print publication and for promotional purposes.
Artists who have worked for the Charleston City Paper in the past 12 months are not eligible to enter.
