Ballpark Festival of Beers

When: Sat., Aug. 25 2012

Oktoberfest is still a little ways away, so quench your beer thirst this weekend at the annual Piggly Wiggly Ballpark Festival of Beers. However specific your craving, you’ll be able to satisfy it at the Joe: they’ll have ales, pilsners, stouts, lagers, and even fancy specialty brews. The Blue Plantation Band will keep the mood mellow with bluegrass, Irish, and country tunes, followed by the acoustic duo Larry David Project. If beer’s not your thing, just head over to the food truck station, where The Magic Cheese Truck, Tokyo Crepes, Pot Kettle Black, and Geechee Island will keep you busy sampling dishes. Make sure you’ve got some extra cash, because while your beer samples are included in the ticket price, food is not. The event is rain or shine, so if the sky looks iffy, bring that umbrella. And try to get there early: The first 2,500 people to enter get a free commemorative sampling glass.
