When: Sat., July 14, 5-10 p.m. 2012
In true revolutionary fashion, local contemporary theater company What If? Productions will lead an estimated 150 Charlestonians as they “storm” Fish restaurant on Bastille Day. French Revolutionary costumes will be seen parading down King Street from Marion Square to flash mob the restaurant, then party through the night. “Doors open at 5 p.m. and close at 10 or 11,” Kyle Barnette of What If? says. “It’s a constant stream of people.” The evening will feature everything from a French chanteuse to burlesque dancers changing it up on stage every 30 minutes. If that’s not enough for you, take in the can-can dancers, the pommes frites guillotine, and the costume contest with a prize that’ll knock your breeches off. So get ready to throw on your best powdered wig and gown and storm Fish, Charleston style.
