There was a moment in Humbug Holiday Hour, the Christmas play written by Michael Catangay and Andrea Studley, where the entire audience was brought onstage. Actually, the audience was forced onstage by a crazed dancer who believed they'd forgotten the true meaning of Christmas, and intended to blow it into them with an array of weaponry. From this point forward, the audience was involved in the show, singing along to the finale song and dancing with the cast. Then the show ended, the cast left the stage, and the audience had to discern for itself when to leave. Deuce Theatre has established themselves as the de facto champions of audience immersion in Charleston, and Humbug Holiday Hour was their tour de force.
