It's always a pleasure to discover someone new in the Charleston theater scene. The excitement of seeing a great performance is always doubled when that performance gets us excited about the future. Young Stowe, who played Artful Dodger in Village Playhouse's Oliver Twist last November, makes us wonder what is next for the young actor. In Twist, Stowe didn't just steal scenes, he annexed them. His comfort on stage drew the eye, his subtle but appropriately styled performance held it. That was just one play. I'm excited to see what I'll have to write about the young man in the future. There's a new kid on the block. Consider me a fan.
