This past winter was downright frigid — at least by Charleston standards. Heck, we even had snow a few weeks back. Considering that this has been an unseasonably chilly winter for us here in the Lowcountry, we salute the men, women, and children who came out to the inaugural Riverfront Race Festival Half Marathon in North Charleston on Jan. 16. It was as cold as Dick Cheney’s robotic heart. OK. It wasn’t that cold — the high was 59 and the low 39. But the point is, it wasn’t exactly ideal running weather. Here’s hoping next year is a little warmer and that at least one City Paper staffer will attempt to run the half-marathon.
