OK, so Nick Cave's Soundsuits are not really practical as far as articles of clothing go. You wouldn't be able to see, you'd probably be really sweaty, and you'd end up leaving a trail of buttons wherever you go. But they're still perfection. Designed especially for his Spoleto exhibit at the Halsey, Cave's Soundsuits were made from fluorescent furs or covered in flea market-finds like Bart Simpson toys and Easter bunnies. At a special artist's lecture, Cave told a packed room that he has a whole closet full of the things. Hey Nick, if you're ever looking to get one of those off your hands, I'm your girl. I'd proudly walk down King Street in these frocks any time. If only it were possible.
