The “Stone Bowl” is a super-heated rock that comes to your table, giving off waves of heat. At Kim’s, they stuff it full of rice and pile it with slivers of Bol-Go-Ki, steamed vegetables, bean sprouts, other various odd bits, and a barely fried egg on top. Add some fiery hot gochujang, stir it all together, and dig into a balanced, spicy, and soulful dish that you can hear searing against the hot sides of the bowl. It’s a classic ethnic dish that lives on the bottom of the menu, but it should not be overlooked.
