We each have our own reasons for getting up, going to the gym, and doing some serious cardio even on those days when we would rather slouch on the sofa with the remote in one hand and a bowl of Häagen-Dazs Dulce de Leche in the other: We want to look better, feel better, or maybe even tack on a few extra years. Louis Yuhasz has another reason besides all of the above: As the founder of Louie’s Kids, a nonprofit that has been dedicated to the fight against childhood obesity since 2001, he is an example for children and families everywhere. Fit club programs, summer camps, and education are all part of the mission for Louie’s Kids. There have been setbacks — Louis got into a traffic accident one day before his annual Yoga Marathon fundraiser — but Louis and friends just keep on running the race. The prize — happy, healthy children — is too important to give up on.
