It's not easy for a reporter to get publicly called out by Gov. Nikki Haley. If it was easy, Haley would have long ago let everyone know exactly how she feels about her frequent foes, like Brian Hicks of The Post and Courier, Corey Hutchins of the Free Times, and, well, this drunk-ass columnist. But the P&C's Renee Dudley found exactly the right thing to earn a public slap from the governor, and apparently all the reporter had to do was, you know, report the truth. In this case, it was about Haley's expensive jaunt to Paris to bring new business to South Carolina. Haley came back empty-handed, but she scored a really nice vacation for her husband and a rather large entourage. In response to Dudley's article exposing the fiscal-conservative Haley's cash-money hypocrisy, the governor declared on the nationally syndicated right-wing Laura Ingraham Show that Dudley was just a "little girl." Haley's gaffe quickly became the political controversy of the day and earned the governor near-universal scorn.
