We occasionally get former George Street Observer staffers or contributors as interns at the City Paper, but it's easy to overlook this College of Charleston student publication when we think about our advertising competitors. We will say that we've been particularly impressed with the magazine's output this past semester, especially in terms of their art direction. The February issue featured a bed strewn sparsely with rose petals; January's story on food service provider Aramark, "Pandora's To-Go Box," was starkly illustrated with a Styrofoam container. If we were CofC students, we'd be picking up GSO. Then again, we are journalism geeks.
