Nathan Thurston has been a big part of the food scene over the years, even though he was stuck way out at the Sanctuary on Kiawah. He participates enthusiastically in all kinds of Charleston events, works closely with local farmers and purveyors, and has cooked for several Guerrilla Cuisine dinners. And now he's moving downtown, taking a job as the executive chef at Stars, the forthcoming new restaurant from Keith Jones, who owns Southend Brewery and Amen Street. Jones is renovating the old King Street Antique Mall, which means Thurston will land smack dab in the middle of the extremely hot Upper King Street food scene. It's a great move for him that has tons of potential. We can't wait to see what happens.
