Johns Island is a little island with limited resources, so when Goodwill opened a spacious store packed with clothes, housewares, baby gear, and the like, islanders rejoiced. Now they have a place to find low-priced treasures, inexpensive clothes, and plenty of shoes. They also have a place to make donations when they're ready to clean out their closets. Each donation you make has a big impact, too, with more than 90 percent of the revenue from donated goods going to job training and employment services. And if you're new to thrifting, they've got a cute little style blog that will help you imagine how to take simple things, like a platform pump, and turn it into a high-fashion glittery Louboutin knock-off.
