The ladies of the Lowcountry Highrollers may be badasses who can take a licking and keep on skating, but when it comes to sheer mind-over-matter toughness, nothing — and we mean nothing — is as rough and tumble as a game of pinball. Well, at least for the ball itself. It gets whacked. It gets thunked. It gets slammed into barriers again and again and again. Fortunately, pinballs don't bruise. Even better, as of just a month ago, a group of pinball fanatics had the good idea to form a legit pinball league called the Charleston Pinball Federation. On Feb. 18, they threw their first ever tourney at the Recovery Room, with much success. Here's hoping the Pinball Federation keeps the ball rolling.
