It's about time that National Public Radio wised up to what we've already known for years: Cary Ann Hearst is a freakin' badass. Duh. She's been declared Best Female Vocalist by City Paper readers for years, in case you didn't know already. So it shouldn't have been a surprise that this hell's bell would make it onto Weekend Edition, answering questions from a station in Oklahoma City. "I would be lying if I didn't admit that I felt legitimized and affirmed by the whole thing, simply because we are such fans of NPR and the kind of programming they put on the air," Hearst told us of the interview. "Hope my measly $5 a month donation helps to keep the smarts a-coming."
