Nirvana, Hanson, and Genesis are but a few of the legendary power trios out there. While the term is bandied about with reckless abandon so much these days, only one Charleston outfit can fit that bill. Like a local Melvins fronted by a mountain man, singer/guitarist Mackie Boles, bassist Bandi Tomaschek, and drummer Marshall Hudson serve up some testosterone-fueled hard rock that needs more ears. At first it may sound like basic heavy stuff that would only appeal to Beavis and Butthead, but a closer listen reveals that the engaging drums, rolling basslines, and thunderous vocals are bigger than the small venues the band currently plays in.
