After 2007's multi-tent bash in the woods on Johns Island, it didn't seem like Skinful founder Brian King could top his own party. He did, in 2008, with a sprawling bash at the old Berles Department Store site on Folly Road. In 2009 he kept to the concrete, making Kulture Klash seem puny when King filled a warehouse at the old Navy base, featuring Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk on a giant main stage. But 2010 returned to Skinful's outdoor roots, in the woods and warehouses alongside the Brick House Kitchen on Folly Road. Concerns that the site wouldn't hold the turnout, now drawing from across the Southeast, were unfounded. Mini-Kiss, the Pimps of Joytime, and the Rebirth Brass Band rocked and funked the main stage, and the woods were again filled with revelers, imbibers, and lovers. How could it ever be topped?
