D'Allesandro's is a special place. It's one of those rare pizza joints that manages to serve up hot, gourmet pizza and beer while still maintaining an infectious atmosphere of endearing seediness. Some of their signature pies, like the Beetnick (a concoction of mozzarella, goat cheese, bacon, golden beets, and rosemary) are unique and well worth the $13.50 for a 12-inch at any time of day, but the best way to experience D'Allesandro's — like any good neighborhood spot — is to head over there between 4 and 8 p.m., bring a few friends, and nosh on pizza and beer. A 16-inch one-topping pizza and a pitcher of PBR is a good size for you and two pals and will cost $18 — only $6 each. Two pitchers of PBR, 10 wings, and a 16-inch one-topping is only $32 — $8 each for four people. Both of these specials definitely won't leave you hungry, but if you're still sober, additional PBR drafts are only $1.50.
