People still aren't sure what to think about the Brick House Kitchen on Folly Road. It's been compared to the Addams Family house, and maybe deservedly so — they did host Skinful Halloween, twice, and some freaky shit went down. The other 364 days of the year, however, BHK is a badass little restaurant, serving up Mediterranean-style seafood and vegetarian dishes. Their angel hair with shrimp and sun-dried tomatoes is great, and the BBQ Mahi is always solid. It's a cool hang where one can toss back a few drinks with Matt, the regular bartender. All winter long, they've had nightly burn barrel fires outside in the cozy outdoor patio area, with live music most nights. The tiny, free-standing bar gets a little claustrophobic when there's a big event, but on most nights, it's the coziest place in town to relax on a couch with a dog at your feet and good tunes on the radio. Come to think of it, it's a lot like home. They've always got a variety of Holy City brews on tap, and pints of Pabst are still just $2, like they should be. Hang out for a night, and you'll feel like family.
