It wasn't so much a call to arms, even if Stephen Colbert meant it that way. And really, he did have the best intentions, encouraging the massive crowd to get out and vote and prove a point that the Citizens United decision is a fucked up thing. But he should have known by the mostly student crowd, many of whom probably weren't registered to vote in South Carolina, or who weren't planning on voting even if they were, that he would only be able to muster a measly 1-percent vote for Herman Cain, who also appeared at the rally and didn't seem to be in on the joke. At least Colbert kept his zingers coming, and the day provided fodder for one of his episodes and a great story for all the attendees to brag to their out-of-town friends.
