Once food trucks started popping up, they quickly got organized as the Charleston Food Truck Federation, which began throwing rodeos and festivals all over town. The most recent was a crazy popular event in Marion Square that had long lines snaking through the park. The Federation has a solid mission, requiring members to be licensed, A-rated by DHEC, and have a menu of mostly freshly prepared fare. They also require trucks to share locations and support each other in their endeavors. So far, it seems to be working out really well for everybody. For a while, they were rolling up to a mobile food court at Coming and Morris streets, and you can check their very active Facebook page to see where everybody will be that day. We think it's a fine collaboration that builds business and momentum for all. Nice work.
