345 King St. (Downtown)
Lunch & Dinner
Big menu of burgers, sandwiches, and plenty of appetizers for snacking. Big bourbon selection.
In the heart of the King Street shopping district you will find Boone's Restaurant and Bar, a two-story space with a back patio that caters to college students on a budget. A family-owned establishment named after the family dog, Boone's offers a full bar with a suitable selection of beers and decent food to nosh on. The menu definitely matches up with any sporting event and there are plenty of TVs around so you won't miss a game. The menu is stocked with buffalo chicken dip, black bean hummus, nachos, wings, a handful of sandwiches and salads, and big juicy burgers. For those with a big appetite, try the WTF burger, a ground beef patty with pepper jack and cheddar cheese, fried onions, and a mound full of fries sandwiched between two grilled cheeses. Wash it all down with a cold Sweetwater 420. —Eric Doksa, Dish (Winter 2012)
Carolina Red says... Honestly the best wings and burgers in town. Super friendly and accommodating staff. The 32 degree beer lines keep the beer deliciously cold, which is especially helpful with some of the spicier wing options. I particularly like the atmosphere of the restaurant; it's not too bright or loud or flashy, it just goes with the relaxed Charleston flow. ★★★★★
roger dodger says... Great place to grab a drink with friends, extremely helpful staff and pretty good food (I was suprised how good it actually was). The place has a great feel to it and was extremely well done inside. Drink prices are about average but everytime i've been they have had ridiculous drink specials. ★★★★★
schwanz says... first visit last night. food was good but honestly the ticket time on the food was 1.5 hours. yes, that's right, 1.5 hours. probably would have left under normal circumstances but was unable to do so on this particular visit. will not go back unless i hear they have fixed their kitchen problems. ★★★★★
Sure, we can go to any fast food joint several times a week to accomplish this task, but why not clog your arteries in one stop? Boone's serves a ground beef patty, with pepper jack and cheddar cheese, fried onions, and a mound of fries sandwiched between two grilled cheeses. It's huge, cheesy, and dripping with grease. Have your doctor on speed dial when you go eat this monster.
