The Footlight Players have announced that the first play of their 2013-14 season will be Lerner and Loewe’s classic musical Camelot. The show tells the story of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, focusing on Arthur’s valiant attempts to create a just society ruled by law and virtue with the help of his queen, Guinevere. When Guinevere falls in love with Sir Lancelot, everything begins to unravel.

Footlight’s production will be directed by veteran director Mary Cimino, who’s directed productions at many local venues including Theatre 99 and the Dock Street Theatre. She’s also directing the off-Broadway production of The Banana Monologues, which was co-written by erstwhile Charlestonian John Brennan.

Camelot
opens August 2 at the Dock Street Theatre and will run for three weekends. Learn more at footlightplayers.net or by calling (843) 722-4487.
