Dylan plays the 2010 Azkena Rock Festival in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain
This year marks the 25th anniversary of Bob Dylan's "Never Ending Tour." Since then he's hit Charleston five times, most recently in 2004 at the Joe. He's coming back to the Lowcounty on May 4 for a show at the Family Circle Magazine Stadium. You never know what you're going to get with the guy — Dylan's has been charmingly cantankerous for years — but more often than not he delivers. His latest sets have featured songs that lean heavily on his new album Tempest, which like most Dylan discs was a critical hit. Since Bob's getting up in the years, if you've never seen the "poet laureate of rock 'n' roll," this may be your last chance. Tickets are $58 for floor and lower level seats, and $31 for the upper tiers. Opening is Dawes, a great roots/indie rock band who sound like Dylan if he'd been born 40 years later.
