Army Wives fans will be pleased to hear that Lifetime’s most popular show has been renewed for a 13-episode seventh season, according to press release sent to the City Paper by the cable network.
Army Wives looks at the lives of Army spouses living on the same base. The series’ sixth season reached an average of 3.2 million viewers an episode. The second half of the sixth season, which airs Sundays at 10 p.m., premiered with more than 3 million viewers, up from an average of 1.2 million for the first half of the season.
Filmed in Charleston, Army Wives is a huge source of business for the city’s TV and film production industry, whether behind the scenes or in front of the camera. Actress Catherine Bell won the title of Best Actress in 2012’s Best of Charleston issue. The show also stars Kim Delaney, Sally Pressman, Brian McNamara, Sterling K. Brown, Wendy Davis, Drew Fuller, Terry Serpico, Kelli Williams.
