It looks like Charleston may be getting another reality show. When this cryptic Craigslist ad for a casting call was posted yesterday, we did a quick Google search. The results seemed like it was a casting for an MTV reality show to be filmed in Texas. Not so. MTV is looking to take the concept of that show and set it in Charleston — perhaps a mixture of the Real World, Buckwild/ Jersey Shore, and the CMT show the Ultimate Coyote Ugly Search?

The premise of the show is the life of a saloon girl — both at the bar and outside of the bar. So, that means that the girls picked for their show would work at Market Street Saloon, have their lives taped, stop being polite, start getting real, and hopefully have the drama pursue.

Zephylla Nassar, Corporate Promotions Manager at Charleston Hospitality Group, says, "We're looking for well-rounded girls, not just Saloon girls but girls who have more going on in their life." She also stated that "They [MTV] approached us. We didn't pitch the idea."

During the video audition process, questions tried to delve deep into the inner beings of the girls, asking whether they had an "easy or hard childhood? [Their best] childhood memory. How did your parents treat you? Did they reward or punish you more?" Other questions included life goals, confrontation style, and what the girls really believe in. Obviously, the producers are looking for particular kinds of girls to fill roles that will create the most drama.

The turn out was fairly low, but Nassar hopes to make it a weekly event to get the best girls possible. We saw two hopefuls, both had seen the ad on Craigslist and wanted to see what it was all about. The audition also included an improv dance portion and a bar tending showcase.

Nassar said they were still looking for five more girls to fill the spots, and she believes the producers will be in town shortly to scout locations.
