GOProud founder, gay activist considers primary challenge to Graham
The founder of the gay Republican group GOProud and York resident, Bruce Carroll, resigned from the group he helped create Monday to concentrate efforts on a prospective primary challenge to Republican U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham in 2014. Carrol is the latest in a series of high-profile conservative activists who are rumored to be mulling a challenge to Graham.

S.C. House Democrats push Medicaid expansion plan
South Carolina Democrats are proposing a plan that would use federal money to cover the costs of significant Medicaid expansion under the Affordable Care Act. Gov. Nikki Haley and her Republican colleagues have vowed to refuse federal funding to expand the program.

Fast-spreading white-nose syndrome found among Upstate S.C. bats
A disease caused by a fungus tha spreads within bat hibernation habitats has been seen increasingly in areas in the Upstate of S.C. Conservationists warn that the increased spread of the disease could cause farmers to have to spend more on insecticides to make up for the drop in the insect-eating bat population.

Sequester cuts cause cancelation of Charleston air show
