State Health and Environmental Control Director Catherine Templeton answered questions from state senators Thursday about the Greenwood County tuberculosis outbreak earlier this month. During a visit in Charleston today, Gov. Nikki Haley defended Templeton, saying she was confident that DHEC "did exactly what they needed to do." [State, P&C]

While in Charleston today, the governor also recognized outgoing MUSC President Ray Greenberg, declaring today "Ray Greenberg Day." [P&C]

No concrete plans are in place regarding any merger plans between College of Charleston and Charleston School of Law, but in an interview yesterday, CofC president George Benson said that looking back, the combination of the two schools "probably should have happened" when ideas first surfaced a decade ago.

Despite a court order declaring them the legal adoptive parents, Matt and Melanie Capobianco still have several hurdles in front of them before Baby Veronica comes back to Charleston. [P&C]
