We admit the phrase “environmental sustainability” doesn’t immediately conjure up images of cutting-edge fashion, but who says being eco-friendly can’t be fabulously chic? This year, the Charleston Eco Fashion Event is back to show you just how fashionable supporting the environment can be. Clothing designers from near and far will take over Michael Mitchell Gallery, showcasing their latest collections of environmentally friendly, trend-setting fashions. On the roster are Caroline Maude (of Maude Couture), 2011 Charleston Fashion Week Emerging Designer semi-finalist Hannalei Taylor (of label 3 Thimbles), and the established eco-friendly duo Antonina Ramsey and Catherine Bello (with their label, In Harmony), as well as the debut runway show by Mallory Curlee of CurleeBikini. There will be music by DJ Jake B and a variety of wines provided by Earth Fare. Come applaud the designers making a difference and help them make strides toward an environmentally responsible fashion industry.
