When: Saturdays, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Continues through Dec. 23 2012
It’s that time of the year again, when waking up early on Saturday mornings becomes a fun thing to do because the Charleston Farmer’s Market is happening. The market opens this Saturday just in time for Eat Local month. Bring your reusable grocery bags and stock up on fresh, local produce from area farms like Ambrose, Fields, Lowland, Kennerty, and Owl’s Nest. You can pick up eggs and raw milk from Celeste Albers at her Green Grocer booth, and you’ll also find fresh herbs for planting from Sea Island Savory Herbs and cut flowers for decorating from Thackeray. Get a bag of freshly popped kettle corn (totally addictive) or a popsicle from the King of Pops and listen to live music from Yeehaw Junction while the kids play in the hump castle.
