Charleston Preservation Society's Fall Tour of Homes and Gardens

When: Sept. 27-Oct. 28 2012

Ever wonder what those magnificent houses on the Battery look like on the inside? This is your chance to find out — and it’s a lot easier than breaking and entering. The Preservation Society of Charleston’s 36th Annual Fall Tours of Homes and Gardens begins this Thursday, and will give guests a view into some of the city’s historical and architecturally impressive homes, churches, and public buildings. Guests on the tours will see beautiful examples of American architecture, spanning the early Georgian Period into the 21st century. And it’s not just for tourists. “Even if you currently live in Charleston, there is always another historic neighborhood to learn about and experience,” says the Preservation Society’s Ashton Mullins. Purchase tickets for one specific tour, or take advantage of the weekend pass to enjoy three full days of sightseeing. If three days just isn’t enough, consider volunteering. Perks include free tickets to a tour of your choice and an invite to the Preservation Society’s party in the spring.
