Chef Demos

Charleston is known for its world-class culinary scene, which makes the SEWE-Certified South Carolina Chef Demos even more exciting to watch. The Certified South Carolina program was launched several years ago to capitalize on the Lowcountry’s unique culinary heritage by helping consumers identify and buy South Carolina products. Restaurants across the state have joined in the effort, and many Lowcountry chefs are dedicated to preparing menus that include at least 25 percent Certified South Carolina products. More than a dozen of these local chefs, including Charleston Grill’s Michelle Weaver, Tristan’s Nate Whiting, and Fat Hen’s Fred Neuville, will be featured in SEWE’s Chef Demos, where they will show you how to make some of their favorite recipes using South Carolina ingredients. SEWE attendees can also take part in the action by sampling products from the producers, processors, and vendors of the Certified South Carolina program. —Emily Taylor
