City Picks, Beer

Clips Beer and Film Tour

When: Thu., Sept. 26, 7 p.m. 2013

Thirsty Thursdays at the Joe may be over, but that doesn’t mean you have to stop your weeknight beer consumption. On Thursday, New Belgium Brewing will pair beer with independent short films in Marion Square. Proceeds benefit Charleston Moves, a nonprofit organization working on initiatives to encourage the city of Charleston to move towards alternate transportation, like cycling or walking. “Charleston Moves is important to our city because we want to make cycling and walking more accessible for everyone,” says Ben Gruber, the volunteer coordinator for the event. “Biking and walking can create a healthier city and allow us to more completely appreciate the beauty of Charleston.” New Belgium Brewing will offer 3-oz. samples and 12-oz. beers for purchase and also will sponsor a raffle for a New Belgium bike cruiser during the night. Low Country Creole, Roti Rolls, and Hello My Name is BBQ will serve up grub, and bike valets will park your wheels to encourage cycling to this event.
