Dan Aykroyd wants to sign your skull-shaped bottle of vodka

Comedian to appear at Burris Liquors in support of latest venture

Comedian Dan Aykroyd is set to visit Charleston Sept. 16, but he’s not doing a show, and he’s not visiting fellow ghost-buster Bill Murray (as far as we know). He’s making an appearance at Burris Liquor Store on Meeting Street to sign bottles of vodka.

We’re serious. Aykroyd, who got his start on Saturday Night Live back in the ’70s, recently created his own brand of vodka called Crystal Head. The inspiration? His “fascination with the supernatural,” according to a press release. Make sure to check out the website and watch Aykroyd's video.

“The super-premium vodka is made with water from a deep aquifer in Newfoundland, Canada, blended with selected grains for a creamy and slightly sweet finish, and triple crystal filtered through Herkimer diamonds, which, according to New Age belief systems, embody positive energy and goodwill,” also according to the press release.

Aykroyd will be hanging out at Burris from 4-6:30 p.m. on Wed. Sept. 16. We’ve heard he’ll even be doing a Market-area bar crawl afterwards — details to come.
