Crisis Ministries, a local nonprofit that provides various services for the homeless, serves an average of 200,000 meals to those in need each year. To help keep their pantries stocked, cone 10 studios is hosting an Empty Bowls fundraiser, which combines yummy, chef-made food with handmade pottery. cone 10 is a working clay studio and gallery, and their artists are excited to participate in the fundraiser. “To be a part of the Empty Bowls benefit is to express what pottery really is — a vessel that holds food,” says potter Fiorenzo Berardozzi. “It’s a natural fit.” Dinner guests will dine from bowls created by 25 Charleston area potters, including Berardozzi, who has designed tableware for McCrady’s and Husk restaurants. In exchange for a $38 donation, guests will be able to keep their bowls as a reminder to always lend a helping hand.
