If you’re like us, you’ll still be recovering from the tryptophan on Black Friday. But if you’re a gift-buying early bird, you’ll be at the Holiday Market at Middleton Place. The Garden Market & Nursery and the Museum Shop are hosting an open-air festival featuring vendors of historical and holiday-themed products from around the region. Check out hand-crafted products made by Middleton’s own artisans using old-fashioned techniques, and shop other vendors like ReWined Candles, Rina’s Kitchen, and jewelry artist Deena Barron. You can also enjoy complimentary snacks and hot cider served by the campfire, while live musicians perform Christmas carols. “It’s a more unique experience than going to the mall,” says Middleton’s marketing director Warren Cobb, who also mentioned that many of the local artisans at the plantation’s Garden Market and Museum Shop are accessible to the public without admission year-round. “People come from all over the world to Middleton Place, while people from Charleston barely know the great things we have here at the plantation,” Cobb says. To show your local love, bring your S.C. ID and receive a 10 percent discount on select items at the market, or pay admission to the plantation and receive the same benefits.
Price: Included in general admission. $25/adults, $15/students, $10/children 6-13, Free/children 5 and under
