Legare Farms Fall Harvest Dinner

When: Sun., Nov. 2, 4 p.m. 2008

Ever wonder about all the hands that help deliver the delicious food to your dinner plate? The folks at Legare Farms are holding their first ever Fall Harvest Dinner to help you map it out. The idea came from dinners thrown in the past by Georgia Organics, Slow Food, and Lowcountry Local First. Eleven different Charleston chefs, including Fred Neuville of Fat Hen, Robert Carter of Peninsula Grill, and Craig Deihl of Cypress will showcase their culinary skills using Legare Farms antibiotic-free pork, beef, and fall veggies. The afternoon starts with a “Meet the Farmer” social at 4 p.m., followed by an outdoor dinner in Charleston’s lovely fall weather before the sunset at 5 p.m. The menu is still a bit up in the air, but we hear Kevin Johnson from Anson is using a hog head in his, plus many other dishes to warm your insides. Local breweries and Irvin~House Vineyards will provide the booze. —Alison Sher
