If you’ve ever fancied picking blueberries while listening to mellow blues tunes, head to Blue Pearl Farms this weekend. Held every third Thursday of the month (except December), Blue Pearl Farms’ Blueberry Jams bring together local musicians, artists and artisans, and plenty of food (both blueberry and otherwise) for a good ol’ fashioned outdoor concert. This month, the jam features the Southern roots rock stylings of The Guilt Ridden Troubadours, with S.C. native Davis Coen opening. Refueler’s Mobile Cafe will be there to offer their Filipino-inspired dishes like chicken adobo and veggie pancit, plus a surprise dish made with Blue Pearl’s very own berries. Kids are welcome and can stay busy with face painting, hula-hooping, and a blueberry toss, but pets will have to stay home. Since the idyllic setting is surrounded by hundreds of blueberry bushes, you might want to arrive when the gates open at 2:30. After all, the early bird gets the blueberry.
