No matter how many oyster roasts you’ve been to this season, you ain’t seen nothing until you’ve been to the Lowcountry Oyster Festival. Featuring an unrivaled 70,000 pounds of oysters, plus a food court with food from eight local restaurants, three food trucks, and three dessert booths, this festival is the best reason we’ve seen to break your New Year’s resolution — you know, the one about eating less. “It always fascinates me how much tradition is associated with the Oyster Fest,” says the Charleston Restaurant Association’s Kathy Britzius. “Even when people move away, I see them keep coming back for the festival.” If you’re feeling the competitive spirit, join in on the oyster eating and shucking contests. Kids will enjoy the children’s fun area with jugglers, aerial artists, and bounce castles. And of course, it’s all for a good cause. Proceeds will go to five local charities, including the Ronald McDonald House and Hollings Cancer Center.
Price: $12/advance, $15/gate
