Nationwide Tour Championship

When: Oct. 19-25, 7:30 a.m.-7 p.m. 2009

PGA wannabees unite: The Nationwide Tour Championship comes to the Ralston Creek Course on Daniel Island this week. Sixty top golfers from the top-money list vie for a piece of the $1 million-prize purse, as well as a shot at one of the 25 PGA Tour memberships for the 2010 season. Golfers compete for four days, playing one round of 18 each day. Attendees can walk the course alongside players, as well as enjoy the 18th Green spectator area equipped with bleachers, TV announcers, and a post-match interview area. In addition, a “19th Hole” is available with food, drinks, and college football on large TVs for those who are aching for a little more excitement than nine irons and polo shirts. If the boss won’t let you off work all four days, catch live broadcasts throughout the week on the Golf Channel. —Marina Fleming
