Redux Art Auction

When: Sat., Nov. 13, 6:30-10 p.m. 2010

What: Local art lovers can support the Lowcountry’s art scene and take a little something home with them via Redux’s Art Auction. Held at the Charleston Center for Photography, the event features sculptures, drawings, paintings, and prints up for live auction. More than 60 works are available from more than 50 local artists, including John Pundt, Ishmael, Liz Vaughan, and Jared Charzewski. In addition to the live auction, a silent auction is also in the works, featuring goods and services from Artist and Craftsman Supply, Footlight Players Theatre, Guerilla Cuisine, and more. All proceeds from both auctions go toward Redux, so pick something up for yourself or get an early start on Christmas shopping. For those who don’t bid, the event is still worth checking out. The art will be on display before the auction begins, and many of the featured artists will be in attendance. The event begins at 6:30 p.m.; bidding starts at 8 p.m. Redux’s Director of Development Kyle LeGette promises, “The energy during the live auction is contagious.” Sure beats catching the flu. —Jansen Cumbie
