Slightly North of Broad Anniversary

When: Wed., Dec. 5 2012

With all the new kids on the block, it’s easy to be surprised how long some of the Charleston classics have been around. Slightly North of Broad has been serving up local and seasonal fare since 1993, establishing the restaurant as a Lowcountry landmark.

“SNOB has continuously evolved over the years, but it is amazingly true to the original concept. We have always placed a premium on having a restaurant that feels good when you walk in, and we have continually reinvested to make it even more so today,” says General Manager David Marconi.

To celebrate, SNOB is offering drink specials and dishes from the restaurant’s history.

Some of the oldies-but-goodies reappearing for lunch include the vegetarian red bean soup, SNOB’s take on pad Thai, and the mighty chicken burrito for the “small but passionate following” that Marconi remembers. At dinner, a $36 prix-fixe, four-course menu will bring back ’90s favorites like foie gras mousse stuffed shiitake mushrooms, Chef Frank Lee’s classic take on oyster stew, and the crab-stuffed flounder.

Come early to cast your vote in the Maverick Spirits Challenge, a blind taste test where Maverick vodka, bourbon, and tequila will go up against the big brands like Absolut, Makers Mark, and Cuervo Silver. Other drink specials run all day including Maverick Speciality Cocktails for $5 and Maverick Private Label wine for $5 for a glass and $20 for a bottle.
