It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a soiree! The Sustainability Institute is throwing a superhero-style gala this year to celebrate their work conserving energy in South Carolina. With the help of glowing LED lights, Hibernian Hall will be transformed into a Southern Gotham. In the spirit of superheroes (and Halloween) costumes are welcome, so channel your inner child and try to remember whether sheets or towels make the best capes. The evening will feature food and cocktails provided by Cathead Vodka, Wine Awesomeness, Fuel Cantina, and Cypress, just to name a few. So why the superhero theme? Director of Development Deborah Kaufman explains, “The Superhero Soiree will be a night for attendees to think creatively about their own super-power potential.” She also says they “hope that through an event like the Superhero Soiree, we can help more people engage in our mission and most importantly become better stewards of the environment.” Superheroes must be 21 or older and can purchase tickets online.
