Hot biscuits with sorghum syrup were once a staple of the Southern breakfast table, but over the course of the 20th century the sweet, golden syrup all but disappeared. Now, all of a sudden, it’s back, and chefs are using it for everything from glazing beets to topping fried chicken and waffles. A sweet comeback indeed.
