Top Wines of the World

When: Thu., Sept. 3, 7:15-9 p.m. 2009

Four courses with an intermezzo featuring traditional French bistro dishes, paired with eight top wines of the world. At the dinner, luxury wines will be paired with more affordable versions with similar flavor profiles, and the wine tasting portion of the dinner will be “blind,” meaning guests will have to guess which wine is which.

First Course
House-made Boursin, Paté, Sausages, Accoutrements and Brioche Toast

Second Course

House-smoked Trout Salad with Apples, Lardons, Mache, Frisee and Honey-Horseradish Vinaigrette
Paired with: 2007 Domaine Gerbeaux Macon Village; 2006 Phillipe Colin Chassagne Montrachet

Third Course
Kobe-Style Beef and Wild Mushroom Vol-au-Vent with Brown Butter Carrot Puree, Glazed Parisian Potatoes, Creamed Peas with Lemon Thyme and Burgundy Duck Demi Glace
Paired with: 2007 Domaine de La Guichard Cotes du Rhone; 2005 Bois de Boursan Chateauneuf de Pape
