The pressure’s on for Threshold Repertory Theatre. They’ve got less than a month before their season premieres with The Crucible on Oct. 20, and their new space has a long way to go. The company leased an old brick building at 84 1/2 Society Street earlier this summer, and they’ve been hard at work gutting it and transforming it into a theater.
Funded by a private donor, the space is the first permanent home for Threshold, which was founded last winter. Co-founder and original artistic director Mark Mixson recently moved back to New York, and co-founder Pamela Galle has stepped into the artistic director role. Galle says she hopes the theater will be able to provide space for other nomadic companies and special events. Find out more about Threshold at thresholdrepertorytheatre.org.
