If you thought the cover of this week's City Paper was funny, then you owe it to yourself to check out Skinny Bitch Jesus Meeting tonight at the 10 p.m. Slap Yo Pappy show at PURE Theatre. These two "bitches" will have you in stitches. Last night they roared through a sketch comedy set that featured among other things: psychotic nuns, sex-obsessed roommates, and a version of Saw through the eyes of Abbott & Costello.
Also on the bill is two-person improv act Pound for Pound, who turned in a solid performance last night, and Comedy Fest veterans The Pushers, who once again lived up to their name, bringing their trademark style of edgy sketch comedy back to the Lowcountry. The Pushers served up several hilarious sketches, many of which poked fun at sexual relationships, including “Top Gump,” which imagined a homoerotic tryst between Pete “Maverick” Mitchell and Forrest Gump.
